Wellness Place is a charitable 501(c)3 organization. All programs and services are 100% gift funded and able to be offered at no charge through generous donations, grants, and fundraising event proceeds.

Events are an important part of the overall fundraising efforts at Wellness Place, resulting in nearly half of dollars raised throughout the year. Proceeds are generated through sponsorship, live auction, raffle, and ticket sales. Four events are produced annually to support programs at Wellness Place. Wellness Place Community Cancer Walk/Run - May 16, 2010

This inaugural event will kick off with registration at 9am on Sunday May 16, 2010 at Harper College in Palatine IL. Help us celebrate cancer survivors and all those who have been touched by cancer! Raise Awareness; Celebrate Survivors; Remember Loved Ones!

Wellness Challenge Golf Outing - July 26, 2010

The 12th Annual Wellness Challenge is set for Monday, July 26, 2010 at Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, IL. Fee is $550 per golfer; Dinner only is $100 per person. Registration includes brunch with beverages throughout the day; green fees and cart; and cocktail reception and dinner. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Wellness Place Auxiliary Gala - September 11, 2010

The 2010 Wellness Place Auxiliary Gala, "An Evening under the Stars" will be held Saturday, September 11th at Barrington Hills Country Club. This event will include live music/dancing; beverages; live auction; and guest gifts. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

SEA Blue Prostate Cancer Walk - September 19, 2010

The 6th Annual SEA Blue Prostate Cancer Walk occurs in September in Lincoln Park at the corner of Clark and LaSalle near the Lincoln Park Zoo. Activities for the day include 3K walk and 5K run to raise awareness about prostate cancer; participant t-shirt; Jesse White Tumblers Performance; PSA testing; and lunch buffet. In May of 2007 photographer Susan McConnell and writer Mary Klest collaborated with Wellness Place professionals and participants to create a photo and narrative exhibit illustrating the strength behind every cancer journey. Since opening, Finding Strength has been placed in hospitals, churches, libraries, senior communities and corporations. Audiences continue to be moved by the effects of this powerful exhibit as Finding Strength tours throughout the Chicago suburbs.

Our deepest gratitude to Susan McConnell and Mary Klest for their vision, dedication, energy and enthusiasm which led to the creation of Finding Strength; and to those who faithfully give of their resources to Wellness Place as we continue to provide vital services so no one has to experience cancer alone. Most of all, we thank our brave participants who, through the sharing of their stories, encourage an open dialogue about a disease once kept secret.
