Patients today are continuously told that they must learn all they can about their illnesses and advocate for themselves. This can be yet another stressor for someone who is already feeling great anxiety about his situation. This article offers common sense advice on seeking illness-related information, such as “determining your own information personality, keeping statistics in perspective”, and remembering that your “goal is to find an M.D., not become one.”
