Movement and Fitness Therapies
Many cancer treatment plans include fitness therapies such as stretching movements, yoga and exercise. Fitness therapies can be helpful to decrease the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, while enhancing wound healing and lowering blood pressure, fatigue, nausea, pain, stress, anxiety and depression. Wellness Place fitness therapies are available to all who are experiencing cancer, including family and caregivers.
Movement and fitness participants are asked to bring a doctor's note or approval with a signed release prior to the first session. The majority of our therapies are provided by professionals who generously donate their services to help participants at Wellness Place. We are grateful for their contribution of time and talent.
