“About three years ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer. The diagnosis was difficult to deal with then, and in many ways I am still struggling to understand what it means for my life and my future. In addition to my family and friends, who have been very supportive, I have found Wellness Place to be a valuable resource. I have attended the Recurrence and Metastatic Group, Guided Imagery, hypnosis sessions and special programs. There are many other services offered in which I hope to participate in the future. My teen-age daughter has also benefited from counseling at Wellness Place. I have found all the professionals and volunteers to be caring, eager to help, and respectful of participants’ information, feelings, and different points of view. Since I have received so much from Wellness Place over the past three years, I recently volunteered to help out in the office. I am grateful that such a warm, welcoming, compassionate place exists. There is comfort in knowing that Wellness Place is here for me as a resource through the ups and downs of my cancer journey.”
